Euro 2020: Ronaldo received the Golden Boot Award

Portugal’s star striker Cristiano Ronaldo won the Golden Boot award by scoring the most five goals in the European Football Championship. Czech forward Patrick Siek also scored five goals equal to Ronaldo but the Portuguese legend also helped him with a goal, which earned him the award. Portugal were eliminated in the last 16 of the tournament after losing 0–1 to Belgium.

However, as Portugal forward Ronaldo won the Golden Boot via a tie-breaker, while Ronaldo had an assist to his name, Seek finished the tournament with zero assists. The third place in this race was Karim Benzema of France. Who scored four goals in Euro Cup 2020. Ronaldo opened his account with two goals in a 3-0 win against Hungary at Euro 2020, taking his all-time Euro Cup final record to a new record of 11. He managed to score two goals in the penalty shootout in a 4–2 loss to Germany in the second match and then a 2–2 draw with France in the third. 

At the same time, in the Euro Cup final played on Sunday, Italy won the title by defeating England 3-2 in a penalty shootout. This title marked a pleasant return to Italy’s football. On the other hand, England has not won any major title for more than five decades. 

Both the teams performed brilliantly in the Euro Cup final. Both the opposition yearned to score goals against each other. The condition of the title match was that both the teams were tied 1-1 in regular and extra time. But after this, Italy overpowered England in the shootout and managed to win the title. This is the second time Italy has won the Euro Cup final.
