Tokyo Olympics 2020 Day 8: India beat Japan in men’s hockey, PV Sindhu in semi-finals

The eighth day of the Tokyo Olympics has been a great day for India. Lavlana, the female boxer, has confirmed the medal. PV Sindhu, on the other hand, reached the semi-finals by defeating Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in the quarterfinals. He is just one step behind the medal. The women’s hockey team won and the hopes of a place in the quarter-finals remain intact. India has definitely been disappointed in archery. Deepika Kumari crashed out after losing in the quarterfinals. Let us tell you that weightlifter Mirabai Chanu has won silver for India.

India men’s team beat Japan 5-3 in Hockey Pool A match. Let us inform that the Indian team has already defeated Rio Olympic gold medalist Argentina 3-1 to enter the quarter-finals of Tokyo Olympics men’s hockey event.

PV Sindhu reached the semi-finals.

Indian shuttler PV Sindhu advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in the quarterfinals. PV Sindhu reached the semi-finals after winning 21-13, 22-20.

Deepika Kumari lost

Indian women’s archer Deepika Kumari had medal hopes in the individual event but a quarter-final loss ended it. South Korea’s San Aan defeated the Indian star 6-0 to make it to the semi-finals. With this defeat, India’s dream of winning a medal in this event was shattered.

Lovlina confirms India’s medal

Indian woman boxer Lavlana has assured a medal in the 64 kg weight category. In the quarterfinals, she defeated Hulian Ki Chen of Chinese Taipei 4-1. With a place in the semi-finals, the female star has ensured India a medal.
