Former Pakistani captain said, in India, someone understood that wickets are needed to win ODIs

The Indian team for the ODI and T20 series to be played against the West Indies has been announced. On Wednesday, 26 January, the selectors gave information about the team selection late at night. In this team, young spinner Ravi Bishnoi has been given a chance for the first time, while Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav has returned. Former Pakistani captain Salman Butt has welcomed the Indian selectors’ move.

Salman said, “The decision to bring Kuldeep Yadav in the Indian ODI team is a right step. The Indian team failed to take wickets in South Africa. His all-rounders did not prove to be effective for the team and seeing him, he did not think that he could take wickets. Shardul Thakur gets killed in the pace, maybe he gets tired due to playing more test matches. Anyway he doesn’t have the pace to trouble the batsmen. Effective when the pitch is helping. Ho.”

The spinners will prove to be important for the Indian team in the home series against West Indies. Salman described the variety of spin in Team India as fantastic. He believed that along with having a chinaman bowler like Kuldeep, the selection of Washington Sundar and Yuzvendra was a positive thought. All of them have the ability to take wickets and can help the team win ODI matches.

“Kuldeep is a very good option. Off-spinner like Washington Sundar and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi will be with the team, with Chahal’s presence, the Indian spin attack looks very strong. The spinner who has taken many wickets in this team. Bowlers have been included. Somebody understood that if the Indian team has to win ODIs, then it is necessary to get wickets.
